The Restaurant Guide for Wine Lovers
Middletons Steakhouse and Grill
We assessed Middletons Steakhouse and Grill in July 2026 from the menu and wine list as they stood then. Dishes and bottles move on; how to drink well here changes far more slowly. We name bottles from the list we saw and say what to reach for by style, so the advice outlasts the list. Once you are seated, At the Table in the Vinealto app reads the list in front of you.
Middletons Steakhouse and Grill is a national grill-house group with a standardised, varietal-led wine list built to be safe, food-friendly and accessible. The wine programme does its core job well (a good by-the-glass red for a steak at fair value) but stays shallow, with no off-dry white for the spiced plates, no dessert or fortified wine and no printed pairings. It will most reward the diner who wants a straightforward glass of Malbec or Shiraz with their steak, rather than one looking for range or discovery.
The full assessment — the wine programme, the pairings that lift a plate, and how the room reads for a wine lover — is for subscribers.
