The Snooty Fox is a seafood, steak and lobster destination at Lowick with a wine list of a seriousness you almost never meet in a pub. The wine programme genuinely elevates the food — bone-dry minerality and Champagne for the shellfish, a Fino for the cured salmon, classed-growth clarets for the dry-aged beef, and a by-the-glass range wide enough to match every course, right down to Port and Sherry by the 100ml for the puddings. It will most reward a wine lover who wants to eat serious seafood and grass-fed steak and drink adventurously by the glass, from an English sparkling through to a thirty-year Tawny.
