We assessed Tap and Kitchen in July 2026 from the menu and wine list as they stood then. Dishes and bottles move on; how to drink well here changes far more slowly. We name bottles from the list we saw and say what to reach for by style, so the advice outlasts the list. Once you are seated, At the Table in the Vinealto app reads the list in front of you.

Tap and Kitchen is a wharfside brasserie in Oundle cooking a short, provenance-led menu that changes week to week. Its wine programme punches well above the market-town setting: a generously poured by-the-glass carousel, an honest, characterful buying hand, and a complete Sherry, Port and Madeira tail served in small glasses that most lists this size never attempt. It will reward the curious drinker who wants to explore by the glass and the diner who likes a real sweet wine with pudding as much as the everyday visitor after a good glass with lunch.

The Snooty Fox is a seafood, steak and lobster destination at Lowick with a wine list of a seriousness you almost never meet in a pub. The wine programme genuinely elevates the food: bone-dry minerality and Champagne for the shellfish, a Fino for the cured salmon, classed-growth clarets for the dry-aged beef, and a by-the-glass range wide enough to match every course, right down to Port and Sherry by the 100ml for the puddings. It will most reward a wine lover who wants to eat serious seafood and grass-fed steak and drink adventurously by the glass, from an English sparkling through to a thirty-year Tawny.
