The Last Wine Bar and Restaurant is a wine bar and two-AA-Rosette kitchen in Norwich with one of the most complete by-the-glass programmes in the guide, deep in fine wine and finished with a full run of dessert wines and Ports by the small glass. The wine offer achieves genuine mutual elevation (a characterful, conviction-led cellar that answers every hard plate by the glass and prints a Port pairing against the cheese) with real vintage depth and a curious, wide-ranging buy. Benedicts is a Michelin-listed modern British restaurant in Norwich with a small but impeccably-current and thoughtfully-chosen wine list, offered by the glass and the half-carafe with proper pairing flights. The wine programme achieves real mutual elevation through the sommelier's pairings (a hand-selected sherry against the salmon roe, a flight to carry the tasting menu), held back only by a small cellar and the absence of any dessert wine or Port for the cheese and puddings. It will most reward the diner who wants a sommelier to lead them, a glass or a flight at a time, through refined seasonal cooking.
